Error msg: The procedure entry point GETIUMs...

As I am opening and logging into MSN Messenger 7.5 I get an XP error
message:

The procedure entry point GETIUMs could not be located in the dynamic link
library MSDART.DLL.

I must click on the error message many times in order to get it cleared.
Furthermore, trying to get my emails via MSN will freeze the puter every
single time. What did I miss ?

Running XP SP1 (can't get SP2 to work so I rolled back)

Something is needing a newer MDAC file on your system. Try updating MDAC
to the latest version.
