Error Message

When I try to start Internet Explorer I get a message
that Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. When I click on the detail it shows
appname iexplore.exe
appver 6.0.2800.1106
modname winshow.dll
Modver 1.0.0.1
offset 00002783

This problem seems to correspond to when I loaded some
upgrades from Microsoft for XP.

Any Help?

Dan,
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That should allow IE to open.

Run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html It will remove
winshow. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded from
another machine onto a floppy disk.

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.
