Error message when computer boots

Each time I boot my computer, the following occurs:

1. A message appears, 'Windows needs to install driver software for your
unknown device'. The default choice is, 'Locate and install driver
software' which I select.

2. I then receive an error message, 'This file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in
the Set Association Control Panel'. The title bar for the error message
is C:\Windows\System32\newdev.exe

What does this message mean? Why do I need to create an association to
install a mouse driver? How do I do this? I'm very confused about this.
What should I do?

Hi,
Go to Device Manager and see what device is the one with a yellow bang at
its side.
Once you have identified it, install the proper drivers via CD or
downloading them from the manufacturer's web site.
If you are unsuccessful, just remove the device.

It may be that it is a midiport on your mobo. Vista does not support
midiports. One of my boxes has that too. It is benign if that is what it
is.

1. No device in Device Manger has a yellow bang on it and the Device
Status for the mouse is, "Device is working properly".
2. My wireless mouse/keyboard are operating normally.
3. Gateway Tech Support has notified me that there is no updated Vista
driver for the wireless mouse/keyboard, only an XP driver.

At this point I just want to the error message to stop loading when I
boot. How do I do this?

Again, the error message at boot offers 3 choices:

1. Locate and install driver software
2. Ask me again later.
3. Don't show this message again.

When clicking the third choice to stop the message from appearing again
(or the first choice), another error message appears that reads "This
file does not have a program associated with it for performing this
action. Create an association in the Set Association Control Panel".

The title bar for this error message is C:\Windows\System32\newdev.exe

The third choice doesn't work so I can't figure out how to block the
error message from loading. Does anyone know how to do this?
