Error message when closing Internet explorer

Whenever I close down internet Explorer i get this error
message

"The instruction at 0x01732008 referenced at memory at
0x01732008. memory could not be read.

On the top of the error message it is saying that it is
an iexplorer.exe application error.

I am running windows XP and I tried reinstalling
iexplorer but i can get that to complete either.

Any help would be appriciated.

Have you tried:
Start
Run
sfc /scannow

It may reveal something.
