error message not understood

Hi all,

I am trying to install updated drivers for my scanner (Mustek 1200 UB Plus)
from the Mustek web site but am unable to do so.
When I try to run the download I receive the following message:

C:WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS & Microsoft Windows
applications. Choose to 'close' to terminate application.

This message was received when I tried to open the scanner using the
existing drivers which is why I have downloaded the latest versions.

What can I do to overcome this problem?
