Error Message: "C:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. Can't find progr

I'm using Windows XP Professional SP2 Chinese Version. I'm 16, so my grammar
may not be good enough.

The problem started off when I wanted to look into System Properties. It
shows a prompt message saying the error message:
"C:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. Can't find program." It might be "Can't
find application", since my XP is in Chinese.

I thought this was just another bug or virus, so I selected another option,
Display, and still the same prompt message.

Afterwards, I opened Mozilla Firefox and started to surf around to see if
there are any articles about this. But, I couldn't find an article for fixing
this kind of problem.

Later, I felt tired and decided to play some games. I double-clicked on the
"Half-Life Launcher" executable, and noticed that it opens up the "Open
with..." prompt list dialog. I closed it, and started testing on all
applications I could find on my desktop. Audacity, Media Player Classic,
CamStudio, Fraps, Starcraft, etc. I found out that every application needs to
use the "Open with..." prompt list dialog and select the right executable
file in order to execute it correctly.

I located the rundll32.exe the prompt error message had said, which the
executable file's icon is like a blank sheet of paper, and tried to surf the
Internet for more articles regarding about this.

I asked numerous forum supports for this troubleshooting and/or fixing it.
It turns out, they haven't given me an reply back.

I need help on this immediately.

An article on the WEB which may be helpful:

Nope. It didn't work. When I try to open an application, out appears the
"Open With..." dialog prompt. I had to choose the same application over and
over until I finally get Mozilla Firefox to work.

Not only that, I found my Media Player Classic popping up every time after I
restarted my computer.

Even more, as I went to the Control Panel in Windows XP, and checked for my
firewall connection, it said "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32 Can't find
application" again.

I realize it might not be rundll32.exe doing the problem.

And another thing, I don't have a system restore point. So, the idea of
system restoring isn't a good idea.

With reference to the statement in your original post: "I thought this was
just another bug or virus,-", check this Microsoft article: "You cannot start
programs when your computer is infected with the SirCam virus"

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311446/en-us

And another thing, I don't have a system restore point. So, the idea of
system restoring isn't a good idea.

Other articles, do note internally contained references, pertaining to your
symptom:

To Ka2H:

Are there any exceptions from being infected by SirCam32 virus?

I can open Media Player Classic just fine, even when I made the name "Media
Player Classic" (without the quotes) to an application.

Also, after doing that step above, after I tried to open other applications,
it kept using Media Player Classic to open up that application, thus causing
the player to say "Couldn't render the file".

If I use that name and name other applications, I can open them up easily.

I'll try and make a video for you to see.

Is that behavior normal for a SirCam32 virus?

I had checked the articles regarding about rundll32.exe and SirCam32. My
computer just said couldn't find it, otherwise uses an application already
named as "Media Player Classic" (without the quotes) to open it up.
