error installting software for dvd and cd/rw drives.

I just purchase a new dvd and cd/rw drive. In trying to
install the software with these drives, I get the
following error message. Any help would be appreciated.
I got additional memory and the behavior is the same.

Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory
request was completed.

Julie, are these new drives replacements for older versions? Are you
installing them both at the same time?
