Error in P17.dll ???

I just built a computer for my wife and have a question about an error
message.

RUNDLL
Error in P17.dll
Missing entry: P17Helper

I installed WinXPHome and the various drivers (Chipset, DirectX, Network,
etc.). After each reboot everything was fine. The last thing I installed
was the Soundblaster Audigy card and software. After rebooting I got the
above Error Message.

Can someone tell me what this is and how to fix it. Thanks very much. Mike

Well, it's caused by that last installation you did, of the soundblaster
card / software.
You can view the the startup entry via msconfig (start > run > msconfig >
startup).

So you could try uninstalling / reinstalling the software, or look for
updates on the soundblaster website.

Uninstall/reinstall the Audio Driver.Update from the manufacturer's website.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. I will try to uninstall/reinstall
the SB software. Senqupta... thank you for posting the two links... the
second link was more useful then the first one and had information on where
the file came from. Really appreciate all the help. Hope I can fix it with
the reinstall. I really don't want to reformat the HD and start from scratch
again.
