Error code 31 on the drive DVD/CDROM-RW

I bought a new combo DVD/CDROM-RW fo my laptop ,I'm trying to use it but no
way,properties said "error code 31" and I'm trying to reinstall the driver ,
the only one I have is from WIN2000 "cdrom.inf"

Since that I tried to come back with my CDROM drive ,this one is not seen by
the explorer anymore .
If someone has an idea/fix .
