Error code 2147023901

My MSN9 program stopped working subsequent to the 11/16 Windowes update.
When I try to re-install, I get the above error code & the message "The I/O
operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application
request."
Any help would be appreciated.

You might want to ask in an msn newsgroup. Here is a list of MS public

Have you tried uninstall the updates installed on 11/16? Each computer is
different so there is no way for us to know what updates were intalled on
your system. They can be uninstalled from Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs.

I uninstalled the updates, uninstalled msn, including deleting files &
registry entries with the help of a msn tech rep.
She advised me that the problem was windows based and to try a windows xp
news group; hence this posting.
I believe the install function is faulty.
Is there anything I can do about that?

Ok, it would have helped if you posted that in the first place. I wouldn't
have suggested you try an msn group in that case. Sorry I don't know
specifically how to remedy your situation. You could try a repair install,
I can't say for sure whether that will help. See this link:
