problem installing this hardware-Apple IPOD USB driver-

B

Barry

I installed the latest update to iTunes. Now, when I connect
my IPod to my PC, I get the following error message:

"There was a problem installing this hardware-apple IPOD USB driver-An
Error Occurred During the Installation of this device. The I/O
operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an
application request."

I have searched for an updated driver, but I keep getting the same
error message as above. The iPod shows up in device manager, but with
a yellow exclamation point next to it. It says "The drivers for this
device are not installed. (Code 28)." I've also reinstalled the
driver.cab file from my Windows installation disk, but none of this
has resolved this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem over a year ago. Despite posting a similar message here,
no-one was able to help. You may get lucky this time around. I tried
everywhere to get a solution to this problem, and in the end I got rid of
everything to do with iPod and iTunes. I still have the entry in Device
Manager ( it won't uninstall, so I just disabled it ) and have avoided
iTunes ever since.

I think this is quite a common problem as I have seen a lot of my
friends faced the same problem. Whenever they came to me for suggestion
I asked them to visithttp://www.supportonclick.com. I knew from my
previous experience that the staffs over there are extremely skilled and
quite helpful to respond and solve any kind of problem immediately and I
was right. Now my friends thank me as their ipods are doing fine. The
staffs are master in performing a lot of tricky jobs. I hope they will
also be able to help you out of this problem once you share it with
them.

Is there some reason to revive this year old topic?

There are plenty of possible solutions if you do a Google search for
that error.

Here is one that sounds interesting:
