If you have an MSI file (rather than a setup.exe wrapping an MSI file) you can
install it with:
msiexec /i <path to msi file> /l*v installation.log
and post installation.log here. It should show some detail about why it's
failing. See the thread Fatal Error 1603 in the ...public.platformsdk.msi group
starting 12/8/2003.
