Error 1603

I am trying to export one of my mailboxes and I get this installer coming up
to install something and then half way through it says it can't install it:

Error 1603: A fatal error occurred during installation

What causes this and how can I get around it?

Are you exporting an Exchange mailbox or a PST? In what format are you
exporting it? What will you use the export for? What version of Outlook?
