error at startup

Hi,
I get an error message every startup and its as follows:

16-Bit-Dos Subsystem.
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\updmgr\updmgr.exe
The NTVDM has encountered an illegal instruction
CS:054b IP:fc33 OP:f0 8a 00 00 00
Choose 'close' to terminate the application.

I have service pack 2, but the problem just occured 1.5
weeks ago and I had SVP2 already installed for a month or
so.

Any ideas as to how to fix that thing?
