error and reboot if CD-RW or DVD-RAM drive connected to secondary IDE channel

I have tried all master/slave combination and one/two drive.
Panasonic LF-D210 DVD-RAM and Lite on 52X CD-RW drive.
If I disable the drives using device manger computer works fine.

This is a custom built computer with a K7VZA MBO bios ver 3.7, athlon
processor 1.4GHz, 896MB RAM and Win XP home edition sp-1.
Any suggestion.

Have a look at the XP error logs and see if there is any useful info in there.
