Error 623:

G

Greg Trullinger

"The system could not find the phone book entry for this
connection."
I switched from a dial-up connection to cable modem 2
days ago. Comcast does not support Outlook, so they can't
help me.
I seem to be able to recieve mail, but the message always
appears. On sending mail, I get the same error msg.
In my Internet E-mail Settings dialog, I set the incoming
server (POP3)for "mail.comcast.net" When I close outlook
and then come back into it, I find that the setting has
changed to: "localhost" and "mail.comcast.net" has been
added after my username in the Logon Information section.
The altered setting will not allow me to make connection
to the server at all, so I have to keep going back and
changing the settings each time I open Outlook.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Greg

open Outlook, tools, email accounts, properties/change your email account,
connections, change it from DUN to LAN.
