have seen 550 SMTP relay denied, authenticate via POP/IMAP first, 550
not local host genericcompany.com, not a gateway, and 553 sorry, that
domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts.
I understand from various things I've read, that this may be an issue

Running Outlook 2002 on WinNT 4.0 and Win2000 computers, with a
Win2003 Server running Exchange 2003.
What am I missing?
This only started in the last few days.
p.s. I installed Symantec Mail Security on the Exchange server on
Sunday...could that be related?

in message You probably need to turn on authentication to your outgoing
server. You can do so on the "Outgoing Server" tab for your mail
account.
