Error 32003 in XP Home

Fred

I am currently using XP Home (SP 1) on a single machine.

I am noticing in the event log the following error.

there is no info in Microsoft's site that i could find.
They do mention the error, but it is was described as an
issue with Windows 2000 server so i dont feel it applies
to me.

I just happened to notice this recurring error because I
checked my event viewer. Otherwise, the error seems to
be harmless. Is this anything to worry about? Is it
easy to fix?

I have copied the error report below:

Date: 11/15/2003
Time: 7:50:26
Type: Error
User: N/A
Computer: Basement
Source: ipnathlp
Category: None
Event ID: 32003

The Network Address Translator (NAT) was unable to
request an operation of the kernel-mode translation
module. This may indicate misconfiguration, insufficient
resources, or an internal error. The data is the error
code.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

1. I noteiced The error message states that the data is
the error code. This is the error code (i think - i
copied it from the data field in the bottom of the error
message):

0000: 1f 00 00 00 ....

2. This error also seems to coincide (i think) with me
dialing up for internet access. I seem to connect ok
though (although I'd love a faster connection speed)

Thanks again!

I had a problem very similar to that recently:

My problem was that my friend brought his xp laptop to my house one day, i
networked them with a crossover cable and shared my net connection with him,
then only disconnected the 2 computers from each other and didn't
reconfigure mine to be a standalone workstation again. Once I ran the
network setup wizard and set it back up to not be part of a network anymore,
the problem went away. HTH
