I tried to install a program on my computer, it has compatibility issues, so
I tried to uninstall the program and get "error 1316". Will not let me
uninstall or reinstall. Any ideas?

And the Mystery Program's tech support said...?

If the above doesn't help - the Mystery Program is long out of print and its
company disappeared into Software Limbo for instance - try doing a System
Restore to before you attempted to install the Mystery Program.

To run System Restore, go to the Start Orb and in the Start Search box type
"System Restore" without the quotes. System Restore will appear in the
Programs result. Click on it, allow the UAC prompt, and follow the wizard.

Sorry, I got a new computer, trying to install software for my Palm
LifeDrive. I know it is not compatible with Vista. But will work for my
Outlook contacts, datebook, memos, etc. Hotsyncd once, but now refuses to
sync again. Initially downloaded software from website, worked once, then
not again. Tried to uninstall and came up with that error 1316.. Also says
(when I tried to reinstall) Windows Explorer process ID: 2156. I am just
confused why it will not let me uninstall the program.
