Error 1309 installing Office 2000

G

gil

Windows Vista Home Premium

When I try to install Office 2000 from a CD I get an error 1309:
"File not found: E:\Pfiles\Common\MsShared\Themes\Themes.inf"

With the same CD I installed Office 2000 on my old PC with Windows XP
without any problem.

Please help me.

Hello Gil,

Copy the disc to your harddrive and try again, sometimes cd drive drops files
during reading.

Best regards

A file may be corrupted or possibly Vista is looking for a "theme" it
doesn't have.
Try downloading Windows Installer Clean Up Utility
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
You can find this under More Information in the above link.
Use it to remove all registry references to Office 2000 and then
do a clean install from your CD.
