Error 0x80090019

On my Acer laptop, I have suddenly received the "Windows Product Activation"
message that states "A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking
the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x80090019. I've tried the fixes
listed on the support pages, and here on discussion groups, and nothing has
worked so far. Tried regsrv32.exe etc in safe mode, it succceeded but did not
help me. And scannow didn't help me either. It said RPC server is
unavailable. Is there a fix for this at all???

Clint,

You may have tried this solution already; however, I cannot tell from your
statement that you tried the fixes on the support pages. If you are looking
for new ideas, you need to be specific as to what you have tried. Here is
