Erasing DVD in WinXP

I am using a DVD +RW on WinXP. I want to erase it. When I look in WinXP,
it seems to think it is a CD rather than a DVD. Its size is 683MB rather
than 4.7 gigabytes.

Windows tells me that this CD-RW (not DVD+RW) is re-writable but can not be
erased. What type of program will erase the files. I tried RecordNow and
some other programs. I thought that WinXP could accomplish this becuase
MountRainier was built-in?

First, MountRainier support isn't included in XP, second XP bues write to
DVD's. you must use a third party program.
