Equalizer software?

I would like to be able to apply an equalizer to the music from a movie
played in a PowerPoint presentation.

I know that Windows Media Player has an equalizer function, but I don't
think I can use that while in PowerPoint.

Is there any software that is perhaps part of the driver or is a TSR that
will do this for me?

Check the software that came with your computer. For instance the Creative
has software that comes with it that enables you to set the EQ - it's called
Creative Graphic Equalizer. The changes made in that are system wide.

Thank you Galen, but this is for a Dell Lattitude notebook computer and there
is no software bundled in that has this sort of feature.

I just searched all over and haven't found anything but what I'd
mentioned... Do you know what type of sound card you have?

It's integrated into my machine... as best I can tell it's SigmaTel C-Major
Audio.

Another thought... are there any supplemental audio cards I can use in my
PCMCIA slot? Maybe something like that would come with software that I need.

I want you to know right off the bat that I'm not 100% certain but my
experiences with Creative tell me that this is what you're looking for.
There's Creative Lab's Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit (not that great for a true
audiophile but grand for most people - more than they need really) USB
(external) sound solution available. I'm reluctant to recommend a vendor so
I'd suggest Froogle.com (part of Google) or eBay as a starting point. If
ordering from either then you should ensure that you contact them PRIOR to
the sale to inquire if it comes with the software as well which is what
you're looking for.

I have been doing some research today and I saw what you are talking about.
Creative also has a PCMCIA sound card that comes with equalizer software, but
it isn't clear whether that software will work with a powerpoint video.

But...

I think I found something that will do the job, and for only $20!! Let's put
it this way - it works fine on my desktop (exactly what I need) so now I'll
move it over to the notebook to see what happens. I am optimistic.

It is called WebEQ XP and it's from Blaze Audio www.blazeaudio.com

Thank you so much for your help... I'll let you know what happens!

Looks like it should do the trick. Good find and a decent price if it's all
that it says it is. Seems that it'd be pretty easy to do but when ever I
search for people for software I try to limit myself to known-good freeware.
(I don't want to ever get into the situation where someone says something
like "I bought this, you told me to, blah blah blah." If you know what I
mean.)
