Epson 1670 - Cannot find a document

In the last 2 weeks something changed and my scanner stopped working.
Actually everything works except that the scanned page is totally white.
Two weeks ago that same page scanned and "OCRed" perfectly.
I've downloaded and installed the latest version of SCAN and TWAIN,
several times with and without the scanner unplugged.
Every attempt has given me this "Cannot find a document error".
The light in the scanner appears fine.

Any/all suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Try scanning something other that the same document.

It is possible that the scanner died.

Had an Epson Expression 1600 die on me this spring, bad mother board. I
kept getting error messages. The "cannot find document" sounds
familiar.
You may want to try another doc but scanners do pass away, and they are
expensive to repair.

Frans,

Your message and anguish is quite interesting. I too own an Epson 1670
and I am having the exact same problem. I have spoken with Epson
numerous times and they finally referred me to NewSoft in California.
Apparently, the driver software was developed by NewSoft. I have been
working with them for over a week with no better results. Finally,
today NewSoft says it is the Twain driver and that I should go back to
Epson and ask if they have a newer version than exists on their web
site. I will attempt to contact Epson tomorrow and try to get this
resolved. As such, if I am successful I will also let you know the
secret.

Here's wishing us both good luck!

I'm also having the same problem. It was working fine until last week,
but when I tried to scan some documents, it scans blank. does it mean
my scanner is dead? all the scanning lights are functional thouhg. One
thing I attempted to do was I installed linux on my machine and
removed it. the scanner does not function on my desktop, and when i
tried it on my notebook computer, it still does the same thing. (blank
white page)
