entry in CHART

I have a chart that I have created based on a query. I would like to be have
the person who is producing the chart to be prompted to enter a name and a
date to appear on the chart when it prints out. I would like them to be able
to enter their name and a date. Can this be done on a chart?

Couple of questions. 1. Control source, do you mean Record source? 2.
Parameter query, do you mean I have to build a seperate query for this? I am
confused....as usual.

No, I am sorry, I was not too clear. You wrote that you are using a query
as the source of data for your chart.

Add fields to the query that you wish the user to fill in.

on the form you have your chart on add those same fields where you want them
to appear. When you open the form, the fields that need to be filled in will
open in msg boxes for the user to fill in.

I have done this and when I produce the chart, the date comes out as "#Name?"

No, it is never a lost cause . . you keep working at it. I have always had
difficulties with charts too. your chart is sitting on a form, in the design
mode work on sizing your form larger than your chart and placing those new
fields on the form, say underneath the chart. Make sure your fields are the
correct format.
