"end program power meter"

Ok, so I downloaded the SP2 patch initially. Madness and
slowness ensued. Went to the fixmywindows.com site to
streamline things. ultimately i had to remove the sp2
patch to get some sense of order and even shutdown. now, i
get a message "end program power meter" when I shutdown,
instead of the usual message free shutdown If I
click "end now" it doesn't shutdown. If I click "cancel",
it does shut down. is there something I'm missing? I have
no idea what this message means and would like to go back
to the normal shutdown protocol (pre SP2). Any ideas?

Visiting fixmywindows.com was a mistake: A lot of the advice given there is
rediculous and some is even harmful to your system.

You have a program installed on your computer that includes software called
Power Meter which does not unload from RAM when Windows shuts down. Don't
blame SP 2. Your need to contact whoever wrote the software for Power Meter
and ask them what's up with their program.
