Encrypted Files/Folders recovery

N

Nivin Jose

Hi,

I recently reinstalled my Windows XP Professional. While
I was using my previous installation, I had encrypted
some files and folders. Now that I've reinstalled, I
can't access them from this installation. I had not
created any recovery key or manager when I encrypted
those files. Please tell me any way to recover these
files. These files were all very important to me so I
need the solution soon. So, somebody please reply.

If you did not create recovery keys and export them(or your own keys) - then
you will not be able to regain access to your encrypted files.

Is there no kind of brute-force way or something to
bypass the encryption of the files?

If you have sufficient computing resources then ultimately most encryptions
(PKI or otherwise) can be cracked.
This is not an area we would provide any assistance in.
As regards "bypassing the encryption on the files", this would defeat the
point of strong encryption, and thus was not something we "built in".
