Enable file and folder compression - means what?

Hi all,

When creating a new partition using the "New Partition Wizard" from XP Pro's
"Computer Management", one of the options you have is "enable file and
folder compression." I am not clear on what this option means - does it
mean that everything will be automatically compressed? Or simply that I
will have the option to compress things?

Yes.

You get to do that on a file or folder level too. See the help.
