enable drag and drop?

I currently cannot drag and drop on the desktop or in
windows eplorer. I just installed Windows 2000 on a new
harddrive. Does anyone know how I might rectify this
maddening situation?

For some mysterious reason we had the same problem with
all our Win 2000 run PCs exactly at the same time when
Lovsan/Blaster was doing its thing. The problem
disappeared after downloading and installing the security
patch required.
