empty taskbar

Hi everybody,
This problem has been bothering me for quite some time.
An empty area appeared on my taskbar after a while
and I don't know how to turn it off.

the layout of my taskbar is like this:
start | quick launch | EMPTY AREA | running programs | language bar | sys tray

Does anybody know how to fix it?
