Does anyone know where I can download an emergency repair disk for Windows
2000 Proffessional? I cannot create one, my OS is already down.

You don't need one. Simply boot your machine
with your Win2000 CD - it will give you every
option you have with the repair disk, and more.

Doesn't the repair disk tell what has changed during the time from
install from CD?
And where the files have been copied for safe keeping, typically,
C:\WINNT\repair?

The Win2K CD has the program on it that will read your Emergency Repair
Disk and restore files appropriately.

Yes, that's a repair diskette that is customised for the PC
under consideration. The OP will obviously not be able
to download that disk from anywhere.

ERDs are machine specific. Depends on the damage. If the registry software
hive is corrupt it's too late.

Actually, the Emergency Repair Disk contains very little of interest. A
look at one of mine shows

Volume in drive A has no label.
Volume Serial Number is 98F3-59E8

Directory of A:\

07/09/2003 20:22 493 autoexec.nt
11/03/2002 18:11 2,577 config.nt
05/16/2002 04:31 85 RCSets.txt
10/02/2001 23:41 140,593 setup.log
4 File(s) 143,748 bytes
0 Dir(s) 1,312,768 bytes free

RCSets.txt is a file I put on there myself. None of the others is crucial
either.
