emailing video

hi-i was sent by email a 8MB size video from a friend which he just used a
regular camera to make. It must have been 3 minutes long or so. We wanted to
send one back to him and i used my camera to make a short video of th same
length or so. when i used the scanner/camera wizard in windows to download
it to my pc, it was 67MB. Of course its huge and Yahoo could not send it. I
even went to "you send it" web sit and it would take 35 minutes to send. I
believe my friend uses AOL which to me, means 'dial-up"-
My question, how can I compress my camera AVI videos that i make so that I
can make them email friendly
can I simply save it as a different format?
thanks

=============================
Try importing the .avi into Windows Movie
Maker...drag the file to the timeline and
save it in the .wmv format.

I just imported 60.4 MB .avi from a Canon
digital and saved it in Movie Maker as a
..wmv and the file size reduced to 3.4 MB.

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...
