When composing an email, I have sometimes hit the CTRL key by mistake, and
the whole message etc. disappears. Is there any way I can get it back ?

No. Use CTRL-S to save it to the Drafts (or File | Save As) while composing
and then you can open it from there if it gets deleted.

I can't answer your question below, but I thought you might help me as a new
user to the MS Community. How do I send a quesiton to the Community? It
seems that they failed to explain this or at least I missed it.

Thanks

I do not understand. Just pressing the Ctrl key alone should do nothing. Do
you know what other key you press?

Do you try doing an undo when the message disappears?
