email problem

I recently discovered (when I had no response to 2 job applications!) that
when I click on an email address within a received email and send it - it
doesn't register - the person it was sent to doesn't receive it and it does
not appear in my sent folder. If I copy and paste the address into a new
email, it works just fine. Roadrunner says it's a Microsoft problem;
Microsoft wants $49 just to hear the problem - can someone out there help
me???

I do not have the Windows 2000 software - the computer was a gift already
loaded and the software didn't come with it.

when you click the link and the new email message opens, is it opening in
outlook or outlook express?

I don't know - the form that comes up when I click the email address is
different than the new mail form in outlook express - instead of saying new
message it says untitled-message (HTML) and the tool bars are different than
the ones in the form you get when you click create mail.

sounds like outlook... and outlook is the email client you use for
everything, correct? Do you have more than one outlook profile? open
control panel, mail and check.
