email not moved to outbox 0x80040109

When sending e-mail from outlook XP SP3 on an XPSP2 pc. The e-mail doesn't
leave the outbox - even though the e-mail is successfully sent. The Outlook
send/receive progress dialog box refers to an error 'task
----mail_account_name--- - sending' reported error (0x80040109) : 'Unknown
Error 0x80040109'. I have to maually delete the mail from the outbox. If I
click on the mail and select "send", strangely enough it sends again and
disappears without incident.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi Hank,
if you use NAV please deaktivate it and look if the error comes again!

Or try deactivating any other add-ins you may have - the error message
means that the message has been changed while Outlook was working with it,
so I suspect that something else besides Outlook is involved.

Nice work Jeff. You were correct. The problem stems from extend connect
software used by my Sony Erricson phone. How did you know that the the error
refered to the message being chenged? I looked everywhere and could not get a
definition for that?

cheers and kind regards

It's not something that's documented for end-users, because in general
there's nothing you can do about it. However if you write code to
"Extended MAPI" (the programming interface that Outlook uses), the
development kit would show that the error is MAPI_E_OBJECT_CHANGED. A
little deduction from there lead to my conclusion...
