Email folders disappeared, how can I find them?

All of my email folders under the mail folders heading have just
dissappeared. The outlook supplied folders and my personal folders are all
gone. Where'd they go? More importantly, can I get them back? And can I
prevent this from happening in the future?

Outlook verison? Account type? Exactly what did you do on your PC just
before this happened?
