email file

I am trying to attach an access file to an email and am told that it is
potentially unsafe and may not be able to be opened by the recipient if using
Outlook. What can I do to send a file?

It all depends on how the email system at the other end is set up.

Usually you can get round this by renaming the file, e.g. from XXX.mdb
to XXX.xxx, and instructing the recipient to reverse the process.

Another possiblity is to compress the file into a ZIP archive (or
compressed folder if you have Windows XP) and mail that. Many email
systems will let these through but some will block them depending on
their contents.
