email body text appears as attachment to recipient

for 2-3 weeks, email recipients are telling me that the body of my emails
(text) is not visible in the email body, but appears as a .txt attachment.
My email format was set to RTF. I changed it to HTML, but problem still
exists. Any help appreciated.

That happens if you send as RTF, and the recipient can't read that. Do you
have the recipients stored as contacts in your contact folder? If so, maybe
you have set the internet format for the e-mail addresses to RTF. You might
check that by opening that contact, then double-click into the field of the
e-mail address.
