email addresses in spreadsheet

I use Excel as an orgainizer of names, addresses, emails,
etc. Whenever I click on an email address, it acts like
a hyperlink and automatically dials up AOL and creates a
message to send. I DO NOT want it to do this! How can I
disable the hyperlink function without making the emails
look different. For example, I do not want to
substite "at" for @, even though I know this will disable
the hyperlink. I like to be able to copy and paste an
entire list into the send to field when I am sending out
a club email.

TIA!

One way, copy an empty cell, select the email addresses (to select without
clicking a link assume they
are in D2:D100, in the name box above column A header type D2:D100 and press
enter),
do edit>paste special and select add

this takes care of the future..

goto tools/autocorrect options
2nd tab.. remove checkmark for autocorrect email addresses.

now you need to remove all existing hyperlinks:

to remove existing hyperlinks..
you could save your sheet as a dif file and reload.
(note any excel specific stuff is lost,
and you can save 1 sheet only, not multisheet...

or insert a new sheet,
copy and paste special values to the new sheet...
