Email address replies with x.400 address instead of SMTP

I have one user that for whatever reason has their x.400 embedded in their
email address. They can send out, but when you reply to them, I get the
following:

Delivery to the following recipients failed.

IMCEAEX - <rest of x.400 address O=domain name_OU=Org
[email protected]

I have the same problem! And have been looking for a solution for quit
sometime now.
We have recently migrated from 5.5 to 2003, and any new users create
in AD share this problem. The only way around this for me so far is t
create the users through 5.5 System Manager. The front-end serve
containing the IMC is a 5.5 SP4 box, and until we migrate ou
international sites, this will be staying in place.
