effect of closing "permanently delete" dialog box

In Outlook 2000, are any items permanently deleted if instead of choosing the
"Yes" or "No" buttons, I respond by closing the dialog box showing the
question 'Are you sure you want to permanently delete all the items and
subfolders in the "Deleted Items" folder?'.

It has been a while, but general rule of thumb is that the "x" button is
read as a no/cancel operation. What is happening why you use the "x"
button?

I only posted again to be more specific about using Outlook 2000 since I saw
other confusing threads with people not specifying the version of their
program.
