Editing winxp fax log files

I'd like to manage my fax log files by programmaticaly saving then on a
daily basis and starting each day with empty files. The log files
cannot be edited, apparently they are opened at startup of the
computer. The files just keep getting bigger and bigger.
Read-Only attributes are not set.

Anyone know how make these log files editable?

Try stopping the Fax service in "Services"; with the service stopped, you
should be able to edit the file.
