Editing Audio

Is there any good, or even ok, software for editing
audio, or can Movie Maker be used to just edit audio. I
know Movie Maker does good with video but can it be used
just for audio files.

Hello there,

The best software I have seen is Audacity. Its Free and can be obtained
from the Audio link on my website

After captureing the audio I will need to cut out parts
of the track and then I am using producer to syncronize
it with powerpoint slides.

Is teh audio part of a video file, or just an audio tape. If it's part of a
video file, drop it on the audio timeline and use MM2 as it's quite easy to
do that.

I've never tried just using an audio track, but I suppose it should work.
Just tried it and it's fine, it just gives you audio choices for saving in
when you get that far!

Try Audacity, it's a free audio editor. You can record sounds, play sounds,
import and export WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, and MP3 files, and more. You can
use it to edit your sounds, mix tracks, or apply effects to your recordings:
