dvd+rw

windows xp will not recognise dvd+rw disc. i have a
panasonic dvd/rw the burning software is nero6 . it reads
all other formats of disc but not dvd/rw. any help would
be appreciated regarding downloads or up grades. the
fault is apparently due to the packet length difference
and the fact that the format driver Udfs.sys tries to
read the dvd-rw using a packet length of 32 blocks(cd/rw
length) instead of 16 blocks dvd/rw length.

Are you *sure* it's capable of reading DVD+RW discs? You are aware of and
understand and appreciate the difference between DVD+ and DVD- don't you?
There are only a few burners that can read write to both (these drives will
be marked DVD+/- on the box)? If you've a DVD- burner then your endeavours
are in vain - there is nothing you can do to force it to recognise DVD+
discs. This isn't a Windows issue, but a hardware issue. I've done a quick
reccy of Panasonic burners and they do not make a +/- device, nor do they
produce a DVD+ burner, so it appears you have wasted your money, but then
that's your fault for not doing some research before purchase. They make 4
models, all of which are DVD-.

First you state +RW disks
then RW
then -RW
exactly what drive do you have ????
you cannot read -RW disks in +RW drives and vice-versa

You do realise that assuming someone else's identity is a criminal offence,
don't you?
