DVD problem

I installed winXP - unfortunately some old programs won't work with XP but
it's better than ME so I'll suffer through - Problem..... when I use either
Windows Media Player or Power DVD to watch a movie now - it "Jumps" &
"Skips". My DVD player (NEC DV-5800A) worked fine with ME........what to
do???? plays CDs just fine.

First, WMP on XP does not have its own DVD player/codecs. One place to get
them is

Is the Power DVD software XP Compatible?

The 'old' program can be run in compatibility mode.
