dvd drive

installed windows service pack 2 a week a go and didn't seem to have any
problems but now they're popping up all over. . windows will not copy
anything to a dvd or cd. . .when trying, i receive message;
"windows encountered a problem trying to copy this file, what do you want
windows to do? then the option of "retry" or "cancel" Thanks in advance for
any help. . .. R E Foltz

Exactly how are trying to do this? This doesn't sound like it's an SP2 issue
at all.

First of all, Windows XP (with or without SP2) has no ability to write to a
DVD at all. Third-party software is required to do this.

Second, Windows XP (with or without SP2) has no ability to write to a CD as
if it were a giant floppy. You can only write to it using the Windows
CD-burning program. Again, third-party software (called packet-writing
software) is required for this capability.
