DVD drive is disturbing

Hi! My DVD drive was working properly. But suddenly when I was wathcing
a movie on DVD the movie stopped and the tray stucked. I couldn't open
the tray after that. Then I use safety-pin in the hole on the tray and
opened the tray. I can now open/close the tray manually when it is
empty, but if I enter any cd/dvd it stucks again and the drive can't
read any disk. I uninstalled the drive and each time my PC detects the
drive without any disturbance and shows that it's working properly. But
it's not working actually, as I can't use any disks!

Can anyone tell me how can I fix it and what could be the cause of this
type of problem? I'll be very glad if anyone can help.

Thanks-
N Jahan

Have you tried going to that drive in Explore, right clicking it, and
choosing Eject from the drop down menu? That just might put things back
where they were before the problem. If not your DVD drive has puked and
should be replaced.

Yes I posted the message earlier, but later I found that the drive's
tray is working when only it's empty, that's why I had to edit my last
post and had to edit it. And yes of course I checked the replies that I
got earlier, but those couldn't help.

You should stay in the same thread, not post a new message. It makes it
hard for those trying to help you to see what has bee suggested before to
decide what to suggest now.
