DVD Burning

I just installed a DVD burner (NEC DVD-RW ND-2510A) into my computer. I took
my first DVD+R disc and inserted it into the the drive. Windows thinks it's
a regular CD-Rom because it says CD Drive when the disc is inserted. I like
using Windows XP Home CD burning system and I wondering how I could fix this
problem. Is it Windows, the drive or the media's fault for this?

You need a DVD burning application like Nero6.

WinXP includes a CD burning application, but if you want to burn DVDs
you're going to have to buy a software package that supports that
function.

The inbuilt burning doesn't do DVDs. You need one of the third party
packages. See my http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm page
