DVD Burner does not write on XP (but ok on WIN 98se)

I am having troubles with my Pionner DVR-110D (latest firmware) and XP.

- Deepburner stops when writing with light on (no messages. Erase is OK)
- Roxio 6 stops when writing with lights off
- Nero write correctly

With same system/drive/programs on WIN 98 SE, evrything works fine

The only clues I have are :

The DVD burner is written as SCSI in system
Adaptec ASPI 4.71 is said OK by Aspichk, but the tool in Nero says:
Nero aspi layer is OK
system ASPI layer is corrupt....

I tried reinstalling everything with no succes at all.

I need Roxio, because it is legit, and I am using a lot of Drag to disc
Nero is just a test version.

Can anyone help ?
(I checked yhe low/high filter and the writing tab is present in system
properties)

Adding that after copying missing files by hand, Aspi is now declared OK by
Nero. But
then Deepburner still does not do anything on the DVD... The same content
and media
(RW) is OK with Nero and nothing with Deepburner... Weird!

This is version 6 of Creator + Drag to disk. Included are the latest
updates from Roxio (6.2.0.133 and 6.2.0.134)
What worries me is that deepburner is the latest one, and does not work
either.

I did not have ANY soft installed, then I tried Deepburner, which did not
work at all, then
I tried Nero, which is working, but Deepburner is still NOT working
(although it is
able to ERASE the disc)

I do not have ANY packet writing installed, and that is my main problem.
Most of my
usual CD are formated for Grab to disc. And i never installed Nero's which
does not
read them.

The Upper/Lower filter trick is one of the first things I tried, as the '2'
for burners, but this gave
me absolutely nothing.

Nothing of Roxio is currently present on my XP system, although it works
fine on the same machine
with WIN 98 SE.

I am reduced to boot to WIN 98 to do my backups. XP is a pain in the ass !

Jean-Paulo,

You need to choose one and only one burning app, having Nero, Roxio, and
Deepburner are most likely making XP unstable..

I suggest uninstall all your burning apps, run the above fix, then
reinstall
your favorite one.. I know Nero and Roxio don't play well together, the
Nero
FAQ's should indicate this as well..

The Nero site seems to be down or busy, found this quot..
