Duplicate Name erorr

I have a home network which includes a networked prinnter, two PCs, and one
laptop. All machines are running Windows XP with all updated and service
packs applied.

On my laptop, and only on my laptop, when I boot it, I get an error message
which says: "System Errors: Duplucatie name exits on the network." I have
shut down both PCs and my printer, and I still get the message when I boot
my loptop. This message did not appear until today; otherwise it has been
booting without this error.

What do I need to do to resolve this problem?

I forgot to say that the two PCs, the Printer, and the laptop have unique
names.

How are you connecting the laptop to the network? If Wireless you might
have someone else connecting to your network using the same computer name by
accident, or in an weak attempt to hide what they are doing.

As another suggested, any chance you are using an Ethernet cable connection
to the laptop while a wireless connection is also up?

If all else fails, try renaming your computer and see if that clears the
first problem. Then try and track down what else is using the old name on
the network, possibly by using a freeware network mapping program.
